VanRiet sorter – dismantled and prepared for transport

E-commerce parcel sorter manufactured by VanRiet (Van Riet Material Handling Systems BV). Dismantled and ready for transport.

The sorter consists of:

a) three roller conveyor lines with 72 shipping stations

b) one roller conveyor line

c) a line (belt conveyor) runs parallel to each shipping line (3 lines) and to the returns line (1 line) for removing unnecessary cartons (leads outside the building to a press container (not part of the advertisement)

d) one parcel exit line for 46 locations with a scanner installed to determine the size and weight of individual packages

The efficiency of this sorter is specified at 6 thousand packages per hour. The valuation is accompanied by additional photographic documentation showing the technical condition of the items and things being valued, as well as detailed components of the sorter being valued.

The sorter's operating scheme consists of packing for shipping and assigning the package to a specific transport company. The goods should be packed in a box or polybag. Then the employee scans the goods and creates a label for the box or polybag. Information about the box/container is sent by the sorter to the VanRiet controller. In the meantime, the box/container is loaded by the employee onto the loading line. The products are transported down the line and then combined on one transport line. At the end of the connection, the scanner with the camera identifies the product, measures its dimensions, and then the product is sorted to the designated exit (the place where packages ready for shipping are collected).

The VanRiet sorter is adapted to handle products of various dimensions. It handles cartons with a length of 150-800 mm, a width of 100-600 mm, a height of 10-400 mm and a weight of 0.25 kg to 32 kg. Plastic bags (polybags) with a length of 200-550 mm, a width of 150-550 mm, a height of 13-400 mm and a weight of 0.25 kg to 10 kg.

The sorter can handle up to 6,000 packages per hour, and shipments are divided into one of 46 directions. The general scheme of the sorter is presented in the figure below. Lines 1-3 are shipping lines, and line 4 (added in 2020) is used to accept returns.
