BDK S-1200 Laminar-Flow Safety Cabinet
Operating principle
The safety cabinet is a laboratory unit in which a largely low-turbulence (laminar) displacement flow prevails in the working chamber.
The air flowing through the working chamber, as well as the exhaust air, is cleaned by a high-performance HEPA filter.

- Model design
The safety cabinet is manufactured in three different sizes, as BDK-S 1200, 1500 and 1800.
- Air monitoring
The air flow velocity in the recirculation (downflow work area) and exhaust (inflow exhaust air) areas is monitored with flow probes. Any faults that occur are indicated by a control lamp and signal horn.
- Inspection pane monitoring
The viewing pane made of laminated safety glass is equipped with a weight compensation and can be moved manually very smoothly and steplessly. If the viewing window is not in the working position (opening greater than 190 mm), this is indicated on the display and by a signal horn.
- Control panel
All switching elements required for operation, membrane keypad, signal horn and indicator lights, as well as the display for indicating the various operating states are arranged in the control panel.
- Microprocessor control
The microprocessor control is self-monitoring and permanently displays the airflow speed.
- Unit depth< 800 mm (840 mm)
Due to the low unit depth, the safety cabinet fits through all common laboratory doors.
- Housing design
For safety reasons, the housing is made of 1.5 mm thick Zincor sheet metal with welded pressure area.
- Contamination areas
All contamination areas are flushed with negative pressure.
